May has been a magic month and we’re only half way through.
The big news of the month for me is that you can now see, touch, feel (and buy) my work at the Poi Rooms in Auckland . Melanie and the team have been brilliant to deal with, and I’m excited to be among some other great NZ artists. There is a selection of my work in both the Ponsonby and Newmarket stores, so if you are in Auckland at any stage pop in an check it out.
The second piece of news is the completion of the ring a day project with 120 rings. Its been a amazing process to go through and I’m excited to see the finished body of work and how its turned out. Heavily graphic and pattern based, as a collection it is the perfect relaunch of Paul Harris Art and Design back into the world. The feedback has been brilliant and we’ll be looking at exhibiting the collection later this year so keep your eyes out for that. The whole project was aimed at exploring my design aesthetic and craft, and to give me a relevant voice back out in the world. Thankfully the project has achieved both of those things incredibly well. It has also lead me on to a number of opportunities that are too good to pass up. I’ll be working on those for the remainder of the year, so keep your eyes open for more in the coming months.
For those that follow me on Instagram my daily posts will resume next month with the ‘piece a day’. Pieces that I make across all of the collections and pieces that stand out as being something special.
We’re not quite half way through the year and already I’m looking forward to what the rest of 2018 is going to bring.
